I would understand these teaching to the point of getting in touch with our innermost? but why all the rest of the stuff. I'm sorry if I have missed some important article explaining this. but shouldn't one follow their innermost God completely.
I would've also understood if it was like a diary of sorts. But these teachings are not that . There are hard laws prescribed to the individual. But I don't understand why?

Yes, but the average person is light years away from truly being able to sense and follow the will of their Being. Thus spiritual traditions and teachings are given in order to teach the student's psyche to reach the necessary state.
