Breathing exercises are beginning to become more popular nowadays, it seems, in general we get the impression that the inhale should normally be slower than the exhale, and this makes sense to move the energy inwards and upwards (Centripetal if I'm not mistaken).

However, it appears that there are different techniques being shared through videos, apps etc now, example; to breathe in faster than the exhale, rapid breathing in and out etc

Rapid breathing would cause dizziness (I know because I've tried that method before) and may hyperventilate which doesn't seem useful. The fast inhale and slow exhale method (or also known as 4-7-8) is a subtle difference to how most typical Pranayama exercises are taught although it seems to be more of a Centrifugal method, down and out, if I am not mistaken, this is not a practice that I am familiar with personally.

Since those methods may serve as a gateway into deeper spiritual practices, is there a need to switch up those techniques and incorporate the timeless methods of Ham-Sah, Tibetan Tummo style, Egyptian Christic Pranayama, the centripetal methods?

Thanks.

Master Samael Aun Weor gave us all the techniques we need. It's not necessary to complicate our practice and mind with an abundance of different methods, nor should we mix traditions, etc.
