How do one receives Grace from the devine.
Grace is the very presence of our Innermost Being. In order to be worthy of grace, in order to submerge oneself in the grace of our Innermost, we must remove that which keeps us in a state of dis-grace, the ego.
It is no coincidence that the word for grace in Hebrew is חסד, Chet-Samech-Daleth, Chesed. If you have studied Kabbalah, you will know that this word Chesed is the name for the Innermost, our divine spirit, on the Tree of Life.
That which separates the soul from the spirit is the ego, and it is due to our ego, our negative psychological aggregates that we find ourselves in a state of disgrace, literally a state of divorce from the presence of our Innermost. Our Being longs for the return of his human soul unto him, and this is precisely the path of these teachings: religare, to re-unite with the Innermost, and we achieve this by working with the three factors of the revolution of the consciousness, birth, death and sacrifice, but especially death.
It is the ego that sustains the illusion of our own separation from divinity, and thus it is through the destruction of the ego that we, step by step, come closer to the grace of the divine, the presence of our Innermost Being.
This is a process, and we can live that process from moment to moment, through self-observation and self-remembering. Indeed, self-remembering is precisely the conscious effort to connect with the presence, the grace of our Innermost. So, if we long for grace, remember your Self, your Innermost from moment to moment, and die in your ego.
